Travel information

The University of Surrey is based in the South East of England in Guildford. It is accessible:

By car

From London direction or M25

Remain on the A3 until you come across the exit for the Cathedral and University. The campus can be found next to the junction so follow the signs to the University.

On the A322 or A323

If approaching from Bagshot or Aldershot, at the A3 roundabout take the exit for Portsmouth and then turn off at the first exit, signed as Cathedral and University.

From the A281 or A3100

If approaching from Horsham or Godalming leave the central gyratory system at the exit for Farnham. Continue for 200 yards and at the mini roundabout take the first turning right into Guildford Park Road. Continue along Madrid Road and The Chase for a mile. When you get to the next roundabout take the third exit for the University entrance.

By train

Guildford is located between London Waterloo and Portsmouth and has train services which run every half hour for a duration of approximately 40 minutes. For full details on these train services visit: National rail website

Once at the station it is possible to walk to the campus in around 10/15 minutes. For full directions enter the above postcode GU2 7XH into Google Maps. It is also possible to get a bus straight to the campus by getting on the number 1 or the number 17, which runs between the station and a number of locations in the University.

By coach

A National Express coach (number SH030) runs services to and from the Egerton Road/Tesco stop which is a short walk from the University.

From the airport

From London Heathrow

RailAir coaches connect Guildford railway station with Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 and Heathrow Central Bus Station every hour. National Express coaches also travel between Woking station and Heathrow Airport Terminals 2,3 and 5 18 times a day. At Woking you can get a train to Guildford. From Gatwick

Gatwick station is positioned in the South terminal of the airport and provides direct RailAir link trains to Guildford hourly between approximately 5:15am (6am on Sundays) and 11pm. Check the National Rail website
